Bat Drop – charcoal cricket drawing of Joe Root

Bat Drop (1)Bat Drop (20)-001

I originally drew this as a bit of fun.  It was a moment of unusual reaction and passion from England’s captain Joe Root.  Reaching a trying century in an ODI series against India he managed to secure it and an England win off the last ball.

Keeping the drawing loose with focus on the movement and drama of the situation it is drawn totally in charcoal on lily white pastel paper.

The drawing is available to buy along with limited edition prints from my website here

‘That Taylor Catch’ – original charcoal cricket drawing

It’s been great fun drawing this cricket art, I can safely say that every part of the drawing has gone exactly how I planned it.  In part that was due to the fact that it was such a good action shot that it spoke for itself.  Also, I knew from the outset what I wanted to achieve and where the focus was going to go.  The original drawing is not for sale but I have made a run of 50 limited edition prints – if you are interested you can click here or click on the drawing to follow the link to my shop.  Please note, the wording ‘limited edition print’ will not be on your print.

That Taylor Catch -progress drawing

I’ve been working hard on this special drawing, working in charcoal here’s a couple of clips of the drawing so far.

Solid defence? – original fine art cricket drawing

fine art cricket drawing cricket artist cricket prints

Completed in charcoal this is an original cricket drawing.  I loved the irony in this drawing, the cricketer has positioned himself well for a cricket defence shot but the cricket bowler has defeated the batsman and the ball has sailed past him to send the stumps flying.  Despite the crash of the wickets behind him, he has maintained his solid defensive position.  Currently the original drawing is still available but when sold there are a limited edition (195) of fine art prints available.  I print all the fine art prints myself so you are buying direct from the cricket artist – click on the image to follow the link to my shop.
